Message

Conflict among schema: Behavior Code ICD-0-3 [value] and CS Site Specific Factor 2 [value].

Specification

This edit verifies that for cases coded using the Pleura schema, CS Site-Specific Factor 2 (Histologic Subtype) and Histologic Type ICD-O-3 are coded consistently.

This edit first determines the CS schema by doing a function call to the CS Dynamic Link Library (dll).  The function call passes Primary Site, Histologic Type ICD-O-3, and CS Site-Specific Factor25 (schema discriminator) to the dll and the CS schema name is returned.

This edit is skipped if any of the following conditions are true:

  1. CS Site-Specific Factor 2 is blank or 988

  2. Behavior Code ICD-O-3 = 0 (benign) or 1 (borderline)

  3. CS schema is invalid

  4.

If CS schema is Pleura:

If Histologic Type ICD-O-3 = 9052 (epithelioid), CS Site-Specific Factor 2 must = 010 (epithelioid).

If Histologic Type ICD-O-3 = 9053 (biphasic), CS Site-Specific Factor 2 must = 020 (biphasic)

If Histologic Type ICD-O-3 = 9051 (fibrous), CS Site-Specific Factor 2 must = 030 (sarcomatoid) or 040 (desmoplastic).
