Edit Sets:
California Hospital Transmit
Eureka Admission Level
Fields:
Date of Birth [NAACCR #240]
Date of 1st Contact [NAACCR #580]
Over-ride Age-Site-Morph [NAACCR #1990]
Message:
IF 604: For Date of Birth = [value] before Date of 1st Contact = [value], or OF Age Site (Flag 3) must be 2 or 3.
IF 604: Date of 1st Contact [value] must not be earlier than Date of Birth [value], unless Over-ride Age-Site-Morph is code 2 or code 3 (which indicates an in utero diagnosis).
Specification:
This edit verifies that Birth Date is not later than Date of Diagnosis unless the case was diagnosed in utero.
If either year is blank (unknown), the edit is skipped. If either month is blank, then only the years are compared. If either day is blank, then only the years and months are compared.
If Birth Date is later than Date of Diagnosis, the difference in months is calculated. If the difference is no more than 7 full months AND the Over-ride Age/Site/Morph code is 2 or 3, no further checking is done. (Over-ride Age/Site/Morph may be set to 2 or 3 to indicate a case has been diagnosed in utero.)
Note
Codes in Over-ride Age/Site/Morph are:
1= Reviewed: An unusual occurrence of a particular age/site/histology combination for a given age group has been reviewed.
2 = Reviewed: Case was diagnosed in utero.
3 = Reviewed: Conditions 1 and 2 above both apply.
Blank = Not reviewed or reviewed and corrected.
Historical Changes
2010 Data Item Changes: CCR names (Birth Date; Date First Admis) changed to NAACCR names. Updated Message and Specification sections to account for in utero diagnosis. Note, an over-ride can now cause this edit to be skipped.
